World: Top 10 tallest buildings in the world
Height: 508 m
It is situated in Taipei, Taiwan. It was first building of its time to keep a height of more than half kilometer and also the tallest from 2004 A.D. to 2009 A.D. It is very near to a fault line which is only about 200 m away. So, it is designed earthquake proof which can resist upto earthquake of 9 on the Richter scale.It doesnot have any 44th floor and its because 4 is considered as unlucky number in Chinese culture. It has a tuned mass damper to protect the building from disasters. It had the world's fastest elevator till 2014 with an ascending speed of 16.8 m/s.
2) China Zun (Citic tower)
Height: 528 m
It is situated in Beijing, China. It's official name is CITIC Tower kept after its company CITIC which stands for China International Trust Investment Corporation. Amd its nickname for China Zun is for its similar shape with a religious artifact of bronze called "Zun".
3) Tianjin CTF Finance Center
Height: 530 m
It is situated in Tianjin, China. Its construction started in 2011 and ended in 2019. It has 97 floors. It is owned by Tianjin New World Huan Bo Hai Real Estate Development Co. Ltd. It has 81 elevators.
4) Guangzhou CTF Finance Center
Height: 530 m
It is situated in Guangzhou, Guangdong of China. It has 95 elevators in total. The owner of this building is Chow Tai Fook Enterprises. Its elevators can reach maximum speed upto 21m/s.
5) One World Trade Center
Height: 546 m
It is situated in New York. It is also known as Freedom Tower. The construction of the building started on April 27, 2006 and was completed in July, 2013. It is the world's sixth-tallest building. Its height is for 104 standard floors but has only 94 actual stories. It has a square base, but due to composition of eight isosceles traingles, the middle of the tower gets a perfect octagon. It has 71 elevators.
6) Lotte World Tower
Height: 556 m
It is situated in Seoul, South Korea. It is owned by Lotte group. It is the world's fifth tallest building. The building has 129 floors in total. It can resist an earthquake of 9 on the Richter scale. The construction started in March, 2011 and was completed in April 2, 2017. It has the world's highest glass-bottomed observation deck.
7) Ping an Finance Center
Height: 599 m
It is situated in Futian District, Shenzhen. It was previously known as Ping An IFC. It has 118 floors in total. The estimated construction cost for this building is $1.5 billion.
8) Makkah Royal Clock Tower
Height: 601 m
It is the largest clock tower in the whole world. The face of clock consists of one million LED lights which light up at night to illuminate the clock and increase its beauty. It took exactly six years to get this building completed. It is the third tallest building in this world. The dial used in this clock tower is 35 times more bigger than London's Big Ben. The structure is full of awesome details with inscription of the Quran on east and west part of the clock.
9) Shanghai Tower
Height: 632 m
It is the world's second tallest building. It has the highest observation deck in the world and also the highest usable floor at 587.4 m. It has the fastest elevators in the world designed by Mitsubishi with speed of about 74 km/hr. The cost for its construction is estimated to be $2.4 billion. It can hold upto 16000 people at a time.
10) Burj Khalifa
Height: 830 m
It is the world's tallest building. It has world's longest distance traveling elevators. It also has the highest number of stories. It can be seen from up to 95 kilometers away. It took about 22 million man-hours to complete this giant structure. It took six years to complete this giant structure. It shows a similar shape of a Hymenocallis flower. The structure is covered by 26000 glass panels. It is 160-stories high.
However this is not the end of the list for world's tallest buildings because with the increase of time the height of new projects is also increasing and making new records of height and similar projects are ongoing like the construction of Jeddah tower which when completed will touch the air about 1008 meters high from ground and similarly the project of the Dubai Creek Tower will make record of 1345 m but they are under construction so at present we can't enlist them in our list.
